Tonight we feature the Buehler Family with their amazing beef and pork!!

When I got home from the Buehler family’s farms, I told my husband how refreshing it was to meet such NICE people… the kind who start the visit as strangers and by the end make you feel part of the clan.

I first met Josh and Stephanie who, with their three adorable children, raise the beef so many of you have been enjoying on the market! And what a great set-up they have for the calves they raise on the hay, non-gmo corn, and soybeans grown on the family farms… lots of room, and such a beautiful farm – no wonder their meat is delicious!

My tour continued over to the home of Josh’s parents, Phil and Joan, who gave me a shock when I stepped into their garage and had freezer-envy – a huge, five door freezer with glass fronts just brimming with mouth-watering cuts of Josh’s beef, and the incredible pork Phil raises with son Matt.

Touring their farm, I loved seeing so many sets of mother pigs out in the sunshine with their piglets. To think I was looking at animals whose lineage began over 40 years ago with Phil’s father!!

Their sprawling acreage was simply beautiful, and I was in for another pleasant surprise when we got to Matt’s farm just down the road and before my eyes was the corncrib of my dreams – freezer and corncrib envy in the same afternoon!

I may have come home hours later than I intended, but all was forgiven as I cooked up some of the bacon Phil had given me to sample. Our whole family LOVED the ham steaks, and we made such a flavorful soup with their beef soup bone!

If you want to taste tender, fresh meat from an animal that was both raised locally and well cared for, try out the Buehler’s this week when you’re shopping for breakfast or dinner!!

And thank you to Philand Matt for bringing their great freezer van down each week so we can offer meat on the market even before we secure our own freezer! I’m so glad to have you!
