Fruit Cobbler
Source: Becky Parr (Entered by Becky Parr)This is an old family favorite recipe. Very easy to make! It’s good warm or cold. We like it with milk poured over it but whipped cream, scoop of vanilla ice cream or just plain is good too.
Serves: About 8.
Ingredients
3/4 cup
sugar
3 tablespoons
butter
1 cup
flour
1 teaspoon
baking powder
1/4 teaspoon
salt
1/2 cup
milk
1 cup
water or fruit juice
1 cup
sugar
1 tablespoon
cornstarch
Step by Step Instructions
- Put fruit in 9x9 pan or similar baking dish.
- Mix 3/4 cup sugar, butter, flour, baking powder, salt and milk. Cut in butter to make a dough. Spread over fruit. It doesn't need to be evenly distributed.
- Mix together 1 cup sugar, cornstarch and water or fruit juice until the cornstarch is dissolved and there are no lumps. If I'm making peach cobbler I like to add some cinnamon too. Pour over dough. Bake at 375F for 40 minutes or until golden brown.
